Fine Tuning & Pitch Raising

If your piano has been tuned within the last eighteen months or so then, in most cases, a standard fine tuning will be all that is needed to bring it back to sounding its best.

For pianos which haven’t been tuned in a couple of years or more then a pitch raise will be needed to bring them back up to concert pitch. This is similar to a standard tuning but takes a little longer to allow the piano to safely adjust to having the full tension returned to the frame upon which the strings are mounted. Using a combination of traditional tuning methods and the latest tuning software, we are able to perform a full pitch raise in a single session.

Whatever your pianos requirements we always offer prompt and friendly service to restore it to perfect concert pitch.

Repair & Regulation

A piano is comprised of many different moving parts which will, over time, wear down or shift out of proper alignment. If you find that your piano isn’t responding as it should then it may just be a case of regulation, which simply means making small adjustments at various points in the mechanism to optimise the piano’s responsiveness and playability.

In the case of older pianos some parts in the action (the hammers and levers which the keys interact with) may be so worn down that they should be replaced and this can be done by our technician easily and safely removing the action from your piano and taking it to our workshop.

In all cases we provide the highest quality service and parts at a cost to suit your budget.

Restoration & French Polishing

This describes any work that can be done to restore or enhance the natural beauty of your piano’s wooden casing. Over the years your piano might suffer from prolonged exposure to sunlight, damage from exposure to heat or moisture and various other bumps and scrapes that it may pick up along the way.

We offer a full restoration service to fix any and all cosmetic damage as well as French Polishing which is the finest wood finish available and will enhance the natural beauty of the woodgrain with a rich, glossy shine.
